The Role

We are looking for passionate individuals who are customer focused, team players and want to help improve our local communities in Charnwood. We have both permanent and fixed term contract roles available. The Council is recruiting Customer Service Advisors, working the following rota:

  • Monday 9am – 4pm (30 minutes lunch)
  • Tuesday 9am – 4pm (30 minutes lunch)
  • Wednesday 9am – 4pm (30 minutes lunch)
  • Thursday 9am – 4pm (30 minutes lunch)
  • Friday 9am – 4pm (30 minutes lunch)

The role involves delivering an excellent customer experience by providing advice and, wherever possible, query resolution at the first point of contact. This includes all customer access channels including telephone, face to face, letter, email, web, web chat and SMS.

Providing a high quality and comprehensive information service by:

  • signposting customers to information about our services,
  • educating and supporting residents to develop digital skills,
  • advising and informing managers of issues affecting their service,
  • ensuring a consistently high level of experience for all customers, fairly and without discrimination.

The Person

We are looking for individuals with proven experience of working in a customer service environment, who have good IT skills, and the ability to analyse, interpret and explain information accurately using multiple systems. Experience of working with vulnerable people or complex situations would be advantageous.
