Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the next member of #TeamCBC! We’re looking for the right person to join the Communications Team and help tell the story of the Council and the borough, with clarity, accuracy, and creativity. We need someone who is passionate about delivering communications not just for the organisation but also the communities we serve.

This role as a Communications Officer will involve creating engaging content including press releases, social media posts, videos, articles, website content and possibly some graphics. A key focus of the role will be the day‑to‑day management of the Council’s social media accounts. Our primary channels include the media, social media, email alerts, websites, some printed materials as well as our internal channels.

You will also help collate and analyse metrics, so we understand the impact of our work, and get involved in our AI journey and how that is shaping communications now, and in the future. Everything we do in communications is aligned to supporting the Council’s corporate objectives to keep our borough clean, deliver homes and raise standards, create a prosperous local economy that benefits everyone and support communities.

The role would suit someone who is great with words, understands social media and other channels and is not afraid to learn. There is never a dull day in comms - and if there is, we can get creative and make it vastly more interesting!
