Hours: FTE Mon-Fri (+matchdays as needed)

About Us:

Charlton Athletic Football Club is an English professional association football club based in Charlton, south-east London. The club was founded on June 9th, 1905 and has a storied history, including rising to the top-flight of English Football in the 1930s and winning the FA Cup in 1947. The women’s team was formed in 1991 and became fully professional in 2021, integrating with the men's team.

Currently, our men's first team competes in League One, and our women's team competes in the Women’s Championship. At Charlton, we are ‘one club’ and can be truly described as a ‘family club’.

Role Description:

This position oversees and drives the commercial sales and matchday packages on a day-to-day basis. The role is responsible for achieving and monitoring all expected sales revenue targets through effective sales and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the wider commercial team to oversee and plan the activities of the Women’s Team commercial operations.
  • Provide strategic direction in executing commercial plans and targets for the women’s element.
  • Identify and maximize new and existing business development opportunities across specific target markets.
  • Grow commercial financial targets in line with wider club targets.
  • Develop products, pricing, and promotional plans for the club’s assets, driving and coordinating execution.
  • Research and target new business relevant to the women’s department.
  • Engage and liaise with new and existing clients.
  • Produce sales lead sheets with day-to-day objectives and targets for new business.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to target market specific fan groups for new products.
  • Manage business and account management for all commercial club sponsors and suppliers.
  • Manage the content of commercial pages in the matchday programme throughout the season.
  • Fulfill daily cold calling responsibilities to meet weekly commercial targets.
  • Ensure all reports are administered accurately and to agreed timelines.
  • Represent the club in a sales capacity at conferences, networking events, league meetings, and match days.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain consistent standards and positive working relationships.

Education/Qualifications/Training:

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent.

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate vision and ability to persuade and deliver change.
  • Identify practical areas for improvement in operations.
  • Strong verbal and personal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify and qualify clients.
