Overview

As Senior NPD Manager, you lead end-to-end makeup product development and reformulation, driving innovative colour cosmetics from concept to launch.

You collaborate with cross‑functional teams and artists to ensure on‑time, high‑quality, market-ready products.

You manage complex projects, mentor juniors, and push continuous improvement across NPD processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPD and reformulation development for key makeup projects
  • Drive concepts via supplier innovation, insights, trends, and competitive analysis
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to craft propositions, claims, and stories
  • Own critical path timelines with risk management and cross‑functional alignment
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, with defined quality and performance
  • Build and manage relationships with contract manufacturers and drive innovation
  • Work with Procurement on cost targets and supplier negotiations
  • Incorporate artistry insights from Pro Makeup Artist Pool into concepts and testing
  • Coordinate with Packaging, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams for launch readiness
  • Prepare visual development updates and NPD recommendations for leadership
  • Coach and develop junior team members and drive process improvements
  • Occasional international travel for supplier visits and trend research
  • Key requirements
  • Significant experience in beauty product development, especially colour cosmetics
  • Proven track record leading NPD and reformulation from concept to launch
  • Strong formula development knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to direct formula and shade tweaks with teams and suppliers
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and complex development challenges
  • Ability to translate artistry feedback into viable product development
  • Excellent project management and multi-project prioritization skills
  • Strong leadership and coaching capability, with collaborative mindset
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness with balance of innovation, cost, quality, and speed to market
  • Strong presentation, communication, and storytelling abilities
  • Analytical mindset using consumer, market, and sales insights
  • Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving

  • Willingness to travel internationally
