Role Overview: Quality Assistant Manager in the Global Quality team based in London, responsible for managing product quality for Makeup and Skin Care categories and delivering high‑performing, high‑quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality in Development & Quality Control
- Lead and coordinate quality activities for new NPD projects
- Design and evaluate stability and compatibility studies and other relevant tests
- Define defects range boards, review and approve product specifications, attend line trials, approve trial reports, and sign off on development and mass production samples
- Issue internal finished goods specifications
- Review and issue Certificates of Analysis and other QC documentation weekly for international markets such as India, Indonesia and the US
- Organise inbound inspections and prepare documentation for global warehouses in accordance with AQL international standards
- Monitor and evaluate results of testing with external laboratories for new developments and existing products
- Support colour matching and colour approvals when required
- Quality Compliance
- Manage non‑conformities, changes, and improvement plans (corrective/preventative)
- Prepare quarterly updates on quality KPIs
- Monitor monthly customer complaints and trends on returned products
- Ensure customer complaints are managed effectively and escalated when needed
- Maintain the QMS software, keeping documents and information up to date
- Issue and circulate SOPs, work instructions and protocols
- Participate in the evaluation and qualification of critical suppliers
Who You Will Work With
- Reporting to Global Quality Manager
- Partnering with NPD, Packaging, Supply, Commercial and Procurement teams
- Interacting daily with contract manufacturers and packaging component suppliers
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering or a related scientific field
- Significant experience in a quality role within the cosmetics industry
- Good understanding of formulas, cosmetics development and production
- Knowledge of cosmetic regulations (EC 1223/2009, FDA cGMP, CSAR, etc.) and international quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22716, ISO 2859)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, project tools)
