About The Role
The Global Freight Manager is responsible for managing all Freight Forwarders to ensure shipment of goods are organised to agreed deadlines.
Role overview
We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator and relationship builder, who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into operational detail but can also identify and address long-term challenges in a fast-growing business.
As a Global Freight Manager you will
- Primary contact for Global Freight Forwarders
- Communicate in a pro-active, informative, and collaborative manner
- Manage Freight Forwarder Portals to identify shipments at risk
- Relationship building with Contract Manufacturers, 3PL warehouses, Internal Teams, Freight Forwarders
- Manage Global Freight Co-ordinator
- Attending monthly MBR meetings with our freight forwarders
- Measure KPIs against our 3PL
- Approving invoices and understanding the monthly spend vs budget
- Updating the wider business regarding the market intelligence for Freight
- Working closely with our APAC and NA team
About You
- A strong educational background
- Excel skills – Advanced (pivot tables, v look up etc)
- Problem solver
- Experience using an ERP system
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Inquisitive and keen to learn and develop
- Attention to detail
- Able to work to changing priorities and demands
- Able to demonstrate examples of building and improving internal and external relationships
- Previous experience in Freight/Logistics and Customs desirable
