We’re looking for a New Food Process Technologist to join the team.

Our New Food Development (NFD) Team is always embracing the endless possibilities, always striving to do better, and produce recipe and process improvement to our delicious food. We are recruiting a team member to help deliver against an extensive portfolio of projects.

As our NFD Process Technologist, you will manage projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring a smooth and effective process. You will gather effective data capture through trials to determine correct methodology and yield information are built into the recipe. A key link between the Production and NFD kitchens, ensuring the desired dish quality is replicable and consistent in the Production kitchen.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure all trials and projects run within the agreed critical path

  • To follow the NFD procedures, ensuring all correct and appropriate documentation is completed, to ensure we are audit ready at all times

  • Run production trials ensuring alignment of all stakeholders

  • Complete all trial reports detailing all yields, associated labour and relevant quality measures, clear objectives, outcomes & recommendations

  • Ensure all costings are accurate and updated on our P74 recipe system at each stage of development

  • Run pre and post-trial meetings for all NFD and EFD projects

  • Carry out all required validations to meet objective of the trials, not limited to testing food over complete shelf life from fresh and frozen where appropriate, completing transit and travel tests and ensuring micro and nutritional samples are sent for testing

  • Assist Technical when needed with artwork sign off

  • Support and/or Lead the project Handover to all site teams, ensuring they are prepared and trained for launches

  • Attend launch and all post launch review meetings

  • Assist with investigating and problem solving of any production issues including material variance and quality issues

  • Attend taste panel and positive release meetings when necessary

  • Attend NFD and weekly quality meetings

What will you bring

  • As the NFD Process Technologist, you’ll join a highly talented team, reporting NFD Manager, and have hands-on responsibilities for a wide array of areas

  • Strong understanding and experience of process mapping of food products

  • High focus, attention to the detail, and thorough in reviewing your own work, is a must.

  • Confident in taking your own decisions. Trusting in your own intuition you are a dynamic, energetic, "can-do" person who is happy to break the mould, who wants to do amazing things

  • Proven experience of engaging successfully at all levels and achieving required outcomes through influence, persuasion, and collaboration, as well as through force of personality

  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Resilient, self-aware, and open to change

  • Proficient with Recipe systems, Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, * Food Science or food related degree/qualification

  • Current food industry hands on experience

  • Food Safety level 2

  • HACCAP Level 2
