This is a role for people who take real pride in their work and enjoy being part of a busy, hands-on production environment. When you start your career with Bigham’s, you’ll receive:
- A competitive hourly rate of £16.98, rising to £17.68 after 3 months (equivalent to over £37,000-£38,000+ per year, based on a 40-hour week, excluding overtime)

In any kitchen, hygiene is essential, and in one that produces thousands of meals every day, it’s absolutely critical. That’s why we’re looking for passionate, detail-focused people with high standards to join our Hygiene Team at our production kitchen in Dulcote, Wells. In these skilled roles, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our production areas clean, safe and fully compliant, helping us maintain the exceptional standards our dishes and our customers rely on.
Main Responsibilities:
- Food safety knowledge (desirable but not essential - full training provided) An understanding of food safety regulations and standards, such as HACCP, and a commitment to following them to ensure compliance across all areas of production.
- Strong sanitisation skills The ability to clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces and production areas using the correct chemicals and techniques to maintain hygienic conditions and prevent contamination.
- High attention to detail A careful and thorough approach to work, with the ability to spot potential hygiene risks or hazards and take proactive steps to address them quickly.
- Teamwork and communication A collaborative approach to working with production teams and supervisors, reporting concerns clearly and supporting a consistent, site-wide approach to hygiene.
- Problem-solving ability The confidence to investigate hygiene-related issues, troubleshoot equipment where required, and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
