Job Introduction

In any kitchen, hygiene is essential, and in one that produces thousands of meals every day, it’s absolutely critical. That’s why we’re looking for passionate, detail-focused people with high standards to join our Hygiene Team at our production kitchen in Dulcote, Wells.

In these skilled roles, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our production areas clean, safe and fully compliant, helping us maintain the exceptional standards our dishes and our customers rely on.

Working Hours:

4 days on, 4 days off - 6am-6pm

Main Responsibilities

At Bigham’s, we pride ourselves on doing things the right way and maintaining the highest standards of care, safety and attention to detail. We’re looking for people who can demonstrate:

  • Food safety knowledge (desirable) An understanding of food safety regulations and standards, such as HACCP, and a commitment to following them to ensure compliance across all areas of production.
  • Strong sanitisation skills The ability to clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces and production areas using the correct chemicals and techniques to maintain hygienic conditions and prevent contamination.
  • High attention to detail A careful and thorough approach to work, with the ability to spot potential hygiene risks or hazards and take proactive steps to address them quickly.
  • Teamwork and communication A collaborative approach to working with production teams and supervisors, reporting concerns clearly and supporting a consistent, site-wide approach to hygiene.
  • Problem-solving ability The confidence to investigate hygiene-related issues, troubleshoot equipment where required, and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
