Charlestown Community Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated, reliable, and highly organised Site Manager to join our supportive operational team.
Working across a fixed Wednesday to Friday shift pattern, you will take primary responsibility for the safety, security, and cleanliness of the school estate.
Key responsibilities include routine facilities maintenance, asset management, contractor supervision, and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
The position will also involve an active role at the school gate at the start and end of the school day to ensure the safety of pupils and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work in close partnership with our existing Site Manager, collaborating to ensure seamless estate operations. Ultimately, you will ensure a secure, highly functional, and welcoming environment that allows our pupils and staff to thrive.
We are looking for a proactive, practical, and self‑motivated professional who takes immense pride in their work.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in facilities management, building caretaking, or site supervision, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong practical competence in executing minor building repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic DIY tasks.
- Excellent time‑management skills to oversee site schedules, manage health and safety logs, and coordinate external contractors.
- A strong collaborative mindset, with the ability to work productively alongside our existing Site Manager to manage the school premises effectively.
- Adaptable and flexible, willing to adjust workload to cover holidays, peak operational periods, and occasional out‑of‑hours school events.
- Commitment to safeguarding children and upholding our school's core values.
- IOSH / NEBOSH / Trade qualification is preferable.
