We are looking for a Kitchen Team Leader who is highly self‑motivated, has a great attitude to learning and is committed to delivering exceptional standards of food, cleanliness and hygiene. You will be an ambitious individual, always looking for ways to build on your own experience and who always strives for the perfect end result.
Your Main Duties As Kitchen Team Leader Include:
- Accountable for food safety and hygiene across the kitchen areas
- Training and coaching junior kitchen staff and ensuring all team members are aware of how food is stored, rotated and disposed of
- Work with Kitchen Manager to develop our food offer in line with menu development guidelines
- Support the Kitchen Manager in team recruitment and creating effective team rotas
- Extensive knowledge of the key food allergens
- Support the Kitchen Manager to ensure the site is running efficiently, maximising sales and gross profit through minimising labour and stock losses
- Support the Kitchen Manager in new menu launches and cook offs
- Be responsible for achieving the food margin through portion control and management of raw ingredients
- Stocking shelves and ensuring stock is securely stored at the correct temperature and correctly rotated
- Ensure that all health & safety directives are followed in the preparation of food
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen environment
- A methodical, calm and organised approach to work whilst working under pressure
- Exhibits a proactive, positive, and can‑do attitude towards tasks and challenges
- Precise planning and organisation ability
- Act as role model for team in behaviours, appearance, hygiene and time keeping
- Ability to give and receive fair feedback where appropriate
