The primary purpose of the Learning and Development Manager is to enhance our learning culture by identifying where strategic people development will have the greatest impact across all business areas. This involves understanding the business strategy and its future capability needs to identify learning priorities, from which targeted, purposeful and impactful learning solutions are designed and delivered.
What You Will Be Doing
- Work with senior leadership and the people team to develop a robust learning and development strategy which supports people in developing, progressing and enhancing their careers.
- Identify current and future capability needs by analysing skills gaps across CT.
- Design and deliver blended learning solutions and a range of learning interventions which reinforce an inclusive learning culture and high standards.
- In collaboration with the People Partnering team, oversee our approach to talent management and development which supports skills development for succession planning.
- Connect all L&D activities directly to company goals and future capabilities, ensuring training supports the business strategy and improves performance.
- Deliver L&D that can adapt to suit multiple audiences and their desired impact, ranging from our head office population to our Retail fleet, emphasising a customerâcentric and solutionsâfocused approach.
- Design and oversee all leadershipâ and management development programmes.
- Utilise digital tools to enhance agility, create innovative learning programmes, and deliver content thatâs fitting for the future of skills development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes to ensure they deliver tangible results and ROI, not just attendance metrics.
- Oversee the use of apprenticeships across CT, acting as the key point of contact for external providers.
- Manage the L&D budget and technology (LMS).
- Source and manage thirdâparty L&D resources and suppliers as required ensuring optimal return on investment.
- Ensure legislative requirements are met with compliance training reporting.
- Keep up to date with learning trends, changes in learning theory and developments in learning technologies to ensure CTâs L&D offering is progressive and relevant.
- Drive a culture of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Provide ongoing coaching, training and development for managers across the business.
- Build trusting, supportive and collaborative working relationships with all business departments.
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience partnering with stakeholders to align learning initiatives with business strategy.
- Experience designing and delivering comprehensive training solutions to audiences of all levels in a multiâsite and multidisciplinary organisation.
- Experience with LMS platforms and eâlearning design tools to create modern, engaging content.
- Solid understanding of learning methodologies relevant to a Retail business, and demonstrable experience implementing them to enhance performance.
- Line management experience, coaching and mentoring others to develop and grow.
- Proven ability of building learning frameworks for various disciplines.
- Previous experience as an L&D Manager or L&D specialist.
- Accreditation in psychometric tooling that supports selfâawareness and improved team performance desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced and impactful facilitator.
- Able to use learning content programmes such as Articulate.
- Use of Microsoft Excel to a high level.
