At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to "Make it easy for men to dress well" and we can't do that without our specialist teams. This role will support the UK based People Partners in the delivery of the CT people agenda. The ER Advisor will be responsible for managing employee relations cases primarily across our Retail fleet with some support required in the Contact Centre & Distribution Centre, whilst also supporting People Partners with other activities such as implementing and administering employee policies and conducting Exit interviews.
Responsibilities
- Work with the People Partners to manage day to day ER cases across the business.
- Take ownership for supporting line managers with basic disciplinary and grievance cases from start to end, escalating to People Partner(s) where appropriate.
- Provide timely, legal and pragmatic advice to line managers on policies, procedures and best practices.
- Act as a notetaker for complex disciplinary/grievance investigations alongside People Partners.
- Advise line managers to effectively manage probationary reviews across the business.
- Support People Partners with tracking attendance rates and managing sickness absence.
- Support People Partners and line managers to effectively manage performance, including giving advice on Performance Improvement Plans (PIP's).
- Maintain the ER tracker to ensure it is kept up to date on all relevant cases and advice to support accurate reporting.
- Prepare legally compliant letters and documentation associated with ER case management.
- Arrange, undertake and monitor exit interviews, highlighting areas that require further exploration and feeding back to People Partner(s) and managers accordingly.
- Manage flexible working requests, escalating to People Partner(s) where appropriate.
- Assist People Partners with regular training for line managers.
- Stay updated with changes in employment law and support People Partner with updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects where required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an HR advisory or generalist role.
- Excellent understanding of UK employment law.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Demonstrate a solution focused, can do attitude.
- Ability to effectively evaluate issues presented to them.
- Well-structured and organised with the ability to organise and execute work from various People Partner's.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new things and stays true to the concept of continuous improvement.
- Ability to operate flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong literacy skills.
- Relevant HR qualification (CIPD or equivalent) is desirable.
