The Role
We’re on the lookout for a Front End Developer to join our Web Development team, who will work across both our current ecommerce platform and our future technology stack. In the short term, you’ll help enhance and support our live Salesforce Commerce Cloud storefront. Longer term, you’ll play a key role in our re-platforming journey to PWA or Storefront Next. This migration will be a key component in redefining the Charles Tyrwhitt online customer experience. It’s an ideal role for someone who enjoys balancing hands‑on delivery today with modern software frameworks.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting Our Current Ecommerce Platform
- Build and enhance customer‑facing features on our existing Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform (SiteGenesis).
- Experience working with ISML templates, content assets and Page designer fragments.
- Work with frontend technologies including: HTML5, CSS3, BEM, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Implement responsive UI improvements across desktop, tablet and mobile experiences.
- Support business‑as‑usual releases, incident fixes, promotions and optimisation initiatives.
- Work closely with UX, Product, Merchandising and QA teams to deliver new features.
- Ensure code quality, performance and compatibility across browsers.
- Contribute to our migration to Salesforce Storefront Next.
- Exposure to or strong interest in learning: Headless commerce architecture, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, React Router, Modern frontend tooling (Vite, pnpm, Git).
- Integrate with Salesforce Commerce APIs (SCAPI) and knowledge of REST API.
- Help modernise our frontend architecture, tooling and engineering standards.
- Support the creation of faster, scalable and flexible customer experiences.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Strong commercial frontend development experience
- Excellent HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript skills
- Experience building responsive, customer‑facing web experiences
- Knowledge of ISML templates
- Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills
- Familiarity with tools such as Git and JIRA
- React, TypeScript and API integration experience
