We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to ensure that the quality of engines and gearboxes from our dismantling lines meet required standards. This role also provides technical support to our Warranty and Returns department and carries out minor engine repairs, working closely with the Sales Director to manage cases efficiently.
Location: Poole, Dorset
Working Hours: 8am - 5pm
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Reporting to: All-In-Ones Supervisor
Requirements of the role:
- Ensure the quality of engines and gearboxes from the powertrain dismantling lines
- Audit retail engines in stock to maintain compliance with quality standards
- Help train team members to produce work to the same high standards
- Provide technical support to the Warranty and Returns department, resolving cases efficiently
- Occasionally communicate with customers and visit sites to resolve issues
- Carry out installations and refits of parts on customer vehicles under warranty
- Manage warranty cases from start to finish, updating internal systems and coordinating with sales
- Repair dismantled engines requiring minor repairs or part replacements
- Source and fit parts needed for engine and gearbox repairs
- Road test vehicles to ensure repair work meets standards
- Oversee cost-effective repairs from start to finish in coordination with sales
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 Mechanical qualification or equivalent experience in diagnostics
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or in a related field, with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and components
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and documentation
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within a team environment and provide clear resolution to issues
- Knowledge of Health & Safety compliance and ability to work to recognised processes and procedures
