Overview
We’re growing our team so we\’re looking for a reliable and experienced forklift driver to join our busy team here at Charles Trent Ltd. In this role, you’ll be responsible for handling vehicles safely and efficiently in our main warehouse, supporting our operations as one of the UK’s leading vehicle breakers. If you’re a skilled and licenced forklift driver with a strong work ethic and a commitment to health and safety, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Storing salvage vehicles in racking systems
- Locating vehicles for retrieval using tablet software
- Retrieving vehicles cleared for breaking and auction sales
- Assisting with the movement of vehicles
- Loading and unloading of vehicles from large vehicle transporters
- Working within in a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure compliance with environmental, and health and safety policy and regulations, including manual handling and safe systems of work guidelines
- Adhering to best Practice Health & Safety guidelines
- Ensuring your Forklift is safe, clean and in working order reporting issues to your manager
- Maintain good housekeeping practices ensuring all work areas are kept clean and tidy
- Swing shift pattern, 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday): 6:00am-3:00pm one week / 3:00pm-12:00am the next.
What We\’re Looking For
- Hands on forklift experience and proven ability to safely move vehicles or comparable loads of 2+ tonnes is essential
- Experience of working on uneven ground
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Able to work with a high level of care and accuracy
- A commitment to health and safety
- A conscientious approach to their work
- Flexible approach to tasks and desire to work as part of a team
- Reach truck licence an advantage
