The Role
The Trainee Loss Adjuster will be working closely with our Loss Adjusters in P&C Major Loss UK team in managing insurance claims from cradle to grave.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the team to develop the existing Major Loss business for current clients and identify and bring in new business, and to build new relationships and networks both internally and externally
- Identify any key BD and marketing opportunities in the Major Loss area and with support, manage these to
- successful conclusion
- Travel as necessary to manage allocated claims, attend to client issues and undertake marketing and BD
- activities in key locations with key stakeholders
- Be an integral part to develop the London market and international Major Loss footprint and brand profile
- Receiving and acknowledging new claims
- Managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional fashion
- Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested
- parties in the UK and worldwide
- Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability
- considerations, potential quantum and future actions
- Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic accountants and other experts as necessary
- Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications
- Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing accurate final reports.Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills
- Interest and enthusiasm in Major loss claims handling business
- Prior experience in claims handling is ideal
- Willingness and keen to work towards ACILA qualification (full support provided)
- Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable approach to work is essential
- The ability to build professional relationships quickly
- Effective diary management
- Attention to detail
- Strong organisation and IT skills
- The ability to plan and manage workload to ensure deadlines are metBe confident and articulate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
