Our Average Adjusting division provides independent marine claims advice and adjusting services for large and most complex marine claims and losses. As average adjusters and marine claims consultants, our role is to promote the swift and amicable resolution of claims through our expertise in both the law and the practice of marine insurance.

We have a history that stretches back over 200 years, and our training programmes are widely recognised as amongst the best in the industry. The Role
Richard Hogg Lindley (RHL), a subsidiary of Charles Taylor, is looking to bring a Senior Level Average Adjuster in the UK team to support its growth and expansion. This role will ideally suit an experienced Average Adjuster with 5+ years of experience and is undertaking studies towards AAA qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure existing client relationships are maintained and strengthened.
- Ensure that the optimum level of service is provided to clients.
- Ensure the team maintains a high level of customer focus and always provides a high-quality product/service to clients (internal and external).
- Have responsibility for reporting, investigating and resolving client complaints; ensuring this is carried out in a timely and professional manner in line with CTA complaints procedures, in conjunction with the Global MD.
- Provide senior account management for clients.
- Ensure the delivery of RHL activities are in line with RHL and CTA's standards and controls.
- Work with the team as required on technical issues and draw expertise on technical matters of practice.
- Carry out quality control peer reviews of adjusters' and directors' case work as directed.
- Participate in relevant professional bodies and committees.
- Develop strategy to identify opportunities for growth and new business development.
- Understand the requirements of the market and determine how these can be built into RHL/CTA's service offerings.
- Contribute to identifying and developing new business opportunities, including attending conferences, seminars, other business functions and networking activities.
- Collect client insights and information to help identify new opportunities for development.
- Using services available within the Company and excellent client relationship networking, actively and creatively seek new business opportunities with a view to escalating growth.
- Work with other CTA senior managers to ensure 'cross selling' opportunities are maximised, using inhouse provided services where possible.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the marine insurance industry.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel (locally and internationally).
- Ambitious and highly motivated.
- Carry out ad hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years progressive Average Adjusting experience.
- Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program / or systems in line with business need.
- Ability to assess commercial business proposals with technical, financial and legal components.
