Our Property, Casualty, Technical & Special Risks team is a highly esteemed provider of adjusting and technical services. Our team comprises chartered loss adjusters, engineers, surveyors, insurance practitioners, arbitrators, mediators, lawyers, registered expert witnesses, and chartered accountants. Leveraging a global, multi-disciplinary approach to major losses, we deliver solutions for complex, high-value cases with a positive and proactive mindset, regardless of size.
The Role: We are currently seeking an associate director level liability adjuster to carry out the investigation and handling of complex liability claims for EL (employers liability), PL (Public liability), Products etc in the southeast region. The individual would need to be an experienced technical adjuster with extensive knowledge and background in UK Liability. The individual would be willing to travel and commute to our office in London for 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the team to develop the existing UK Liability business for current clients and identify and bring in new business, and to build new relationships and networks both internally and externally.
- Act as a point of referral for developing and mentoring other junior members in the team.
- Receiving and acknowledging new claims.
- Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties when required.
- Preparing preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions.
- Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other Experts as necessary.
- Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications.
- Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing final reports.
- Be an integral part to develop the UK Liability footprint and brand profile.
- Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

- Experience in complex liability investigations.
- Strong decision-making skills, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to provide detailed analysis of policy coverage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of representing insurers in market meetings and mediations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or ACILA, ACII preferred but not essential.
