Job Purpose: To support the Senior T&C Manager and collaborate with the business to ensure investment management professionals achieve and maintain competence.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Strategic Recruitment: Assist in recruiting new investment management professionals, focusing on desired skill sets.
  • Effective Onboarding: Collaborate with HR and L&D to ensure smooth onboarding of new recruits.
  • Career Path Development: Facilitate the progression of internal talent towards investment management roles.
  • Competence Supervision: Oversee individuals' competence sign-off by conducting activities in line with the CS T&C scheme and SMCR requirements, such as observing client meetings, regular 1-2-1 meetings, and knowledge assessments.
  • Performance Evaluation: Utilise MI and KPIs to assess individual competence and address training needs through root cause analysis.
  • Annual Knowledge Testing: Develop and support annual knowledge tests to demonstrate ongoing competence to the FCA for relevant regulated activities.
  • Conduct and Standards: Ensure conduct and business standards are met, tailoring supervision frequency to individual needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Compliance, HR, and Business Quality Assurance to uphold standards and implement regulatory changes.
  • Learning Solutions: Partner with L&D to identify and address broader development needs and trends across the business.
  • Coaching and Training: Actively coach and support individuals by providing technical and skills training as needed.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Provide feedback to the proposition team to enhance procedures and processes.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of T&C activities and collaborate with IMS Directors and the Senior T&C Manager to analyse trends at both individual and business levels.

Senior Managers and Certification Regime: This role is a Certification Function under the SMCR, requiring annual certification by the Company as a Manager/Supervisor of Certification Staff.

Qualifications & Experience: Relevant supervisory experience and qualifications: CII H15/AF6, or equivalent, and/or CISI Level 4, or equivalent. Fully maintained CPD. T&C Supervisory experience and file checking within wealth management.

Knowledge & Skills: Self-motivated, quick learner with a focus on task completion. Ability to work independently or take direction proactively. Highly skilled influencer. Coaching-focused leadership style. Resilient and adaptable to change. Team player with a willingness to support others. Commitment to supporting a compliance culture.
