Charles Simon Associates are currently recruiting for an IT Manager for a well-established business based in South Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on IT Manager or a Senior Infrastructure Engineer looking to take a step up, it will involve taking ownership of infrastructure, operations and security across a modern cloud-first technology environment.
The successful candidate will act as the senior technical authority on-site, responsible for ensuring the organisation’s core infrastructure is secure, reliable and scalable. This role will involve working closely with senior technology leadership, supporting business-critical systems and overseeing day-to-day IT operations.
This position requires a hands-on approach, combining technical leadership with practical infrastructure delivery.
Location: South Manchester (minimum 4 days onsite)
Salary: £60,000 Per Annum D.O.E
Skills/Requirements for the IT Manager:
- Strong experience working with Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune and Defender
- Solid experience working with Microsoft Azure within a cloud-first environment
- Experience managing identity and access management including Entra ID / Azure AD
- Strong infrastructure experience including networking, Wi-Fi, firewalls and VoIP
- Experience in managing SaaS platforms and cloud-based environments
- Working with endpoint management tools such as Intune and Autopilot
- Experience supporting backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes
- Proven troubleshooting ability across infrastructure, cloud services and endpoints
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Previous experience/exposure of implementing and maintaining Security controls and frameworks is highly desirable
The IT Manager will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of the organisation’s core IT infrastructure and cloud services
- Managing and optimising Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Overseeing identity management, endpoint security and access governance
- Ensuring infrastructure supports a high-performance, cloud-first business environment
- Maintaining and testing backup and disaster recovery processes
- Supporting the operation of business-critical systems and SaaS platforms
- Implementing security controls aligned with group security policies and compliance frameworks
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to on-site IT support staff
- Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure technology supports business needs
- Managing relationships with technology vendors and third-party providers
- Maintaining documentation, policies and procedures across the IT environment
About You:
- Experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer or IT Manager
- Comfortable working in a hands-on technical leadership role
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Able to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working within cloud-first or SaaS-driven organisations
