Location: Office based in Yate, Bristol

Salary: GBP25,000 per annum plus bonus

Job type: Full–time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday)

We are a Bristol based wholesale company, and are currently seeking a Full–time Credit Controller to support our busy accounts team at our head office.

The Role:

This position will suit someone who has a flexible, positive attitude, is comfortable managing their own workload and ideally has previous Credit Control experience; however, we will also consider applicants who have previous customer service experience and are looking for their first role in accounts/finance.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone, email and letters
  • Investigating and resolving credit control queries and invoice discrepancies
  • Assisting with monthly statement runs
  • Generating credit control reports to plan daily and weekly call schedules
  • Working with customers to arrange payment plans and/or payments
  • Providing support to other members of the accounts team as and when required
  • General and ad–hoc administration duties as requested

Skills & Attributes:

  • Previous credit control experience is desirable; however, individuals with customer service or call centre experience in a different sector will also be considered
  • Computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Good level of numeracy and English literacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident to deal with uncomfortable situations that may arise with clients who owe money and keep a positive attitude
  • Comfortable making and answering telephone calls with a professional and friendly telephone manner
  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines while remaining calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Self–motivated with good time management skills
  • A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to show initiative
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognise problem accounts and highlight these to the relevant Manager
