Overview Real Estate Associate (4+ PQE) role at Charles Russell Speechlys. Cheltenham based Real Estate team offering high quality, City-standard work in the Cotswolds with a collaborative environment and opportunities to work with UK and international offices from the Cheltenham office.The role will include a wide range of commercial and Real Estate transactional work including Landlord and Tenant matters, commercial leases, investment, and disposal transactions, including portfolio transactions. The candidate will be part of a Real Estate group which covers a wide range of transactions across key industry sectors.The Cheltenham office team is led by Ian Brothwood and includes Partners, a Senior Associate, Associates, and a Trainee. The recruit will primarily work with Nick Burt and Kim Lalli, with opportunities to collaborate with other Partners in the wider real estate team.Roles and Responsibilities Provide legal advice to clients in a succinct, practical, and persuasive mannerManage a substantial and varied workload efficiently and cost effectively with supervision, appropriate to level of expertiseDemonstrate good judgement and a good legal and commercial understanding of client's particular needsDemonstrate a background in residential and regeneration development acquisitions and disposalsDraft documents with minimum instruction and supervision, making use of appropriate precedentsApply a commercial approach to research and evaluate relevance and accuracy in delivery of adviceBuild a strong rapport with clients and identify opportunities to take appropriate steps to follow throughAttend and assist in organising and hosting client marketing eventsContribute to group knowledge and know-how initiativesComply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and PrinciplesPerson Specification Be an England and Wales qualified solicitor, 4+ years' PQE, able to integrate into teams effectivelyExperience of regeneration development acquisitions and disposals workDevelopment experience, in particular for housebuilders, would be desirableBe confident to work autonomously and as part of a teamDemonstrate excellent time management skills and stakeholder managementBe organised and capable of running a significant number of files and work matters simultaneouslyHave the ability to develop effective working relations at all levels with both colleagues and clientsBe confident in both verbal and written communication including preparation of reports for a diverse range of clients within the housebuilding sectorBe able to undertake (and have proven experience of) complicated title due diligenceHave a flexible approach and willing to go the extra mileCompetencies Working togetherIntegrity and respectInclusivePersonal impact and growthDriving high standardsCommercial mindsetClient-centricResponsible Business
