The HR Policy & Contracts Advisor will work closely with the Head of HR Change and Policy and the wider HR team to help develop and maintain our suite of people policies and employment contracts, in line with legislation, regulatory requirements and the Firm’s HR strategy.
The role holder will combine an understanding of the Firm with HR expertise to support the development of HR policy and key contractual templates to meet business needs.
This is a fixed term position (6 months) to provide additional, temporary resource to address the upcoming changes in employment law which require immediate attention and to help refresh our people policy suite within a specified timeframe.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, create and refresh our people policies, ensuring compliance with current legislation, regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Draft and review employment contracts and agreements, creating a set of best practice precedents/templates, providing solutions where required and ensuring best practice in application.
- Develop and implement processes that support effective policy implementation and governance.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of policies to HR colleagues.
- Work closely with the Head of HR Change & Policy to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Provide ad hoc support for HR projects.
- Support the HR function in audits and compliance reviews.
- Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.
Skills and Experience
- CIPD qualified L5 or equivalent relevant professional qualification, with an employee relations background.
- Proven track record in policy development and employment contract management.
- Previous experience of working in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and its application in the workplace.
