This role will be instrumental in supporting the firm’s strategic investment in iManage and its broader technology infrastructure. The focus will be on the operational management of the firm’s iManage Cloud platform, including resolving support tickets, maintaining system performance, and enabling seamless integration across the legal technology ecosystem. It is a hands‑on position, ideal for a technically proficient iManage professional who excels in problem‑solving, optimisation, and delivering a smooth and efficient end‑user experience. This role will sit within the Applications Platforms team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide second‑ and third‑line support for iManage Cloud and integrated legal applications (e.g. Intapp, BigHand, 3E, Litera pdfDocs, Draftable).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to legal teams.
- Collaborate with service delivery teams to communicate new features and project‑related updates.
- Monitor the performance and error logs of iManage platforms, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Contribute to the Document Management System (DMS) roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to departmental problem management and change control procedures.
- Help lead internal DMS forums and user groups to help shape future projects and business initiatives, ensuring the DMS is utilised to its full potential.
- Manage and maintain iManage Work 10, Security Policy Manager (SPM), and Threat Manager.
- Support system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Independently research new applications and features, or as requested by the business or management.
- Assist with the integration of iManage with Microsoft 365, Practice Management Systems, and other business applications.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on system enhancements and deployments.
- Ensure systems comply with legal industry standards and firm policies.
- Maintain data security protocols and manage user access controls.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of e‑discovery processes.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of compliance and data governance requirements throughout the DMS lifecycle.
- Handle data ingestion and export processes for lateral hires and departures.
- Possess strong knowledge of workspace generation tools such as Morae DMSLink.
- Demonstrate advanced experience with iManage tools such as MacroAgility iSynckit, Litera CAM, PowerDesktop, RBRO Admin Tooling, Tigereye, GDSI, DocAuto.
- Work with databases, SQL scripting, PowerShell, and APIs.
- Provide training and guidance to legal professionals and support staff.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and e‑learning materials in collaboration with the Training Team.
- Ensure integrated environments are patched within firm‑mandated timescales to comply with Cyber Essentials Plus, including both automated and manual patching (which may occasionally require significant out‑of‑hours work).
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a law firm or legal technology provider.
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Understanding of conditional access policies, Microsoft Entra, and SCIM provisioning.
- Familiarity with automation workflows.
- Awareness of AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, and legal AI tools including Harvey, Ask iManage, and ChatGPT Enterprise.
- Understanding of APIs, Windows operating systems, and applications.
- Experience with automation and iPaaS solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate and SQL scripting.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview.
- Strong experience with iManage Cloud and Work 10 in multi‑library environments.
- Familiarity with SCCM, PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft 365 integration.
- Experience supporting legal applications such as Aderant, 3E, Intapp, or Litera.
- Understanding of legal workflows and document lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to liaise with operational and business management teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours at short notice to meet business demands.
- Willingness to participate in the departmental on‑call rota.
- Experience working within an ITIL framework (minimum Foundation Level 4).
