We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world class facility here at Tranent. Candidates must have a passion for working with animals and share our commitment to their welfare. In this role you will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory compliant laboratory setting. You should have a minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications. In return we provide all the training and support you need. A positive attitude with a good work ethic is essential, as we need reliable individuals with a good attendance record. This is a physically demanding role so you need to be active and on your feet for most of the working day.
Responsibilities
- Husbandry duties / delivering essential care and well‑being services to the animals
- Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
- Participating in animal training programmes
- Handling animals for procedures
- Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
- Documenting animal behaviours and activities
Salary & Benefits
Starting pay £12.60 per hour (annual salary £23,842), and a generous benefits package including an 8% employer contribution pension scheme, volunteering and bonus opportunities.
