Job Summary
Our manufacturing site in Keele, is offering an opportunity for a Scientist/Senior Scientist.
Reporting to the MSAT Lead for Downstream, the Scientist/Senior Scientist will be responsible for the planning and execution of downstream activities to support in house and contracted programs of work performed within the MSAT team, and the development or technical transfer of downstream processes as assigned to them. The Scientist/Senior Scientist will also be required to support wider processing activities within the MSAT team (upstream and analytics).

What You'll Be Doing:
•  Contribute to the planning of projects and technology transfers by providing estimates for required resources and schedules
•  Execute and complete assigned programs of work covering contracted, internal projects and routine operations in a timely manner
•  Interpret data and communicate results through verbal and written work
•   Make judgements on the impact of data and relevance to the process development or production process
•   Ensure all operations and procedures are performed after appropriate training and that training is maintained for performing all operations, procedures and regularly updated in job training manualsÂ
•   Assist in the transfer/development of new techniques or processes within the MSAT team and to other areas of the business as required
•   Generate study plans, technical reports, Standard Operating Procedures and Batch Records as assigned
•   Work within project teams including the reporting of work in customer and internal project meetings
•   Ensure laboratory notebooks, MSAT and Production documentation is completed in a timely manner and maintained to high standards as per Charles River policies
•   Form part of multidisciplinary teams working within all areas of the MSAT Group
•   Provide training to staff where competency has been attained
•   Lead the execution of projects, process runs and unit operations within their skill area using a multi-functional team
•   Take part and lead investigation teams if and when required

Skills and Experience:
•  Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or equivalent scientific qualification
•   Practical laboratory or process experience within an academic or industrial environment including use of AKTA purification systems and Tangential Flow Filtration
•   Able to demonstrate high levels of organisation, planning and contingency
•   Able to demonstrate strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
