Investment Accounting (IBOR) expert/business analyst to work within our product team and bring industry best practices in middle office position and cash management workflows. This role involves understanding of complex financial instruments, analysing current systems, and designing components for future solutions.
The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019. As a IBOR Business Analyst, you will have:
- Expertise in one or more of the following:
- Position and Cash position management, including position-level analytics such as amortized cost and P&L
- Cash, transaction and position reconciliation
- Corporate Actions processing
- Front to back experience, from trade capture to execution, and life cycle events.
Business & System analysis and maintenance experience including the ability to:
- Triage support issues for the product team identifying them as either bugs or systems enhancements
- Design expected solutions for the development team to implement
- Collaborate with experienced developers to elicit, understand and document system requirements and functionalities
- Ability to work closely with developers to provide business insights
- Design, documentation, and solution execution experience with the ability to address identified business problems and help execute on with product managers for launches of new products.
What you are responsible for:
- Apply detailed knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product development
- Research and produce business and technical requirement documents
- Work directly with customers and product management team to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications, involvement in all aspects of the software product life cycle
- Partner with development to help develop, implement, and refine features
- Plan and schedule validation tasks; provide hands‑on manual tests; develop verification plans and processes
- Provide feedback on product performance
- Review documentation to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Provide client beta testing support and train personnel on capabilities of new product releases
- Assist with the management of project schedules and deliverables
- Assist implementation and support to resolve escalated client issues
- Actively participate in the Agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum Methodology including attending daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Participate in group testing activities as needed.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or study of Business with an MIS background.
- MS/MBA degree strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, absorb and analyse information quickly and independently.
- Excellent executive level communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills: proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of an organization.
- Strong individual contributor with high motivation, the ability to take direction as well as take initiative, set priorities, and perform tasks with minimal guidance and oversight.
- Proven ability to develop and manage cross functional processes and project timelines.
- Excellent follow‑through, attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to develop recommendations, form judgments and make decisions based on existing available data.
