An exciting opportunity has arisen for a veterinarian to join our dedicated team passionate about animal welfare. The role is within the Department of Veterinary Services at our site in Tranent, Scotland, and involves acting as a deputy named veterinary surgeon in accordance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care services to a broad range of species at the Tranent site.
- Assist with the conduct of clinical work across the site, including medical and surgical case management.
- Support studies by providing specialist veterinary services in fields such as anaesthesia, surgery, and ophthalmology.
- Advocate for animal welfare, ensuring the highest standards of welfare, ethical consideration, and compliance with the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body.
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
Qualifications
- Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and relevant clinical work experience.
