Charles River Laboratories is recruiting 4 Assistant Inhalation Technicians for its Tranent, Edinburgh site on a permanent, full‑time basis.
Job Overview
Assist with inhalation studies, working alongside scientific professionals to deliver client projects and support the development of innovative therapies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support aerosol generation and characterisation; full training provided.
- Handle, dose, and observe animals, ensuring animal welfare.
- Record study notes accurately in accordance with SOPs and company processes.
- Perform general housekeeping and basic animal care duties as required.
- Participate in overtime rota (weekends & weekday evenings) with additional pay.
Applicants Must Have
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, Maths and a Science subject; a degree in Life Sciences is also considered.
- Genuine interest in working with animals and a challenging scientific environment; prior inhalation laboratory experience is highly advantageous.
- Good communication skills and strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, legible laboratory records.
- Full, permanent Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship).
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £24,557.62 per annum + bonus + benefits. Salary ranges may vary based on experience, skills, education, certifications and location.
