At our world class facility in Elphinstone, Tranent (close to Edinburgh), our Archive Department currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Archive Associate on a 3 month fixed term contract. Due to our continued growth and success, we can offer rewarding opportunities in a research environment.

Working as an Assistant Archive Associate, you will assist the Archivist in ensuring the correct operation of the Company Archives, which receives and manages a variety of data. Specifically, you will assist with receipt, storage, retrieval, retention, scheduling and final disposition of data and samples. This position would suit a meticulous individual, preferably who enjoys working within organised and well‑established procedures and should be neat and methodical in their approach to work.

  • Experience of computerised data entry, data management, and word processing
  • Experience in an archiving environment would be desirable

Job Description:

  • Ensures management of electronic/paper document collection, storage, controlled access/retrieval and archives.
  • Manages system user administration, dictionaries, security, access control lists and quality control processes to ensure document integrity for electronic document collection, storage and retrieval.
  • Ensures accurate and timely throughput of electronic/paper documents into document management systems; identify and resolve issues to assure seamless integration with the publishing and submissions functions.
  • Supports audits, inspections, divestitures, due diligence and litigation activities.
  • Ensures continuous efficiency and effective process improvement measurements are conducted to evaluate external vendors.

Salary: £25,352.56 per annum
