This is a site-based role, serving as a key member of the Site Leadership Team. You’ll oversee a department of 70+ scientists and managers across General Toxicology, Safety Pharmacology, Inhalation, DART, and In Vitro Toxicology—driving scientific excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic growth across disciplines.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of toxicology and pathology professionals.
- Set the scientific direction and strategy for the division, ensuring quality and innovation in all safety assessment studies.
- Represent Charles River at client meetings, industry events, and global leadership discussions.
- Partner with senior leaders to align divisional goals with site and corporate objectives.
- Oversee budgets, business planning, and client relationship management to ensure continued growth and excellence.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced degree (PhD/DVM/MSc) in Toxicology, Pathology, or related scientific field.
- Extensive regulatory safety assessment experience within pharma, biotech, or CRO settings.
- Proven line management and leadership experience, including managing managers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Membership or certification in professional toxicology or pathology organizations (e.g., DABT, FRCPath) is highly desirable.
