Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) for a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based in Tranent, East Lothian, this hybrid role offers the flexibility of working three days on-site and two days from home per week, providing the chance to support key HR activities while enjoying a balanced work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring HR mailboxes and assisting with enquiries as appropriate
  • Managing the leavers process for exiting employees
  • Processing of job descriptions
  • Running reports from our time and attendance system
  • Responding to employee reference requests
  • Processing tickets on our HR and Payroll portal
  • Assisting with transactions in relation to employee promotions
  • Drafting HR correspondence and paperwork as appropriate
  • Minute taking
  • General HR administration tasks

Applicants Must Have

  • Previous experience within an administrative role, preferably within a HR function.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent IT skills (knowledge of MS Office), and ability to work on own initiative together with ability to prioritize work and manage conflicting deadlines
  • A confidential nature as maintaining confidentiality is a key part of this role

The salary for this role is £23,132 based on a 30-hour week (£27,951.22 full time equivalent).

Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
