Charles River is currently recruiting a Stores Assistant at our facility in Keele, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. The Store Assistant will be responsible for the support and maintenance of stock levels supplied to the GMP Manufacturing facility on a day-to-day basis.
The Role:
- Accurate receipt of deliveries, ensuring that goods received correspond with the appropriate documentation as well as maintaining the SAP inventory system accurately.
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure all functions are aware of incoming deliveries, shortages, and any issues such as delays or deliveries that were not received.
- Maintain and follow GMP standards when handling and transferring goods.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and liaise with Ops, carrying out packing and then arranging shipment / dealing with commercial shipment paperwork.
- To perform manufacturing operations compliant to GMP manufacturing standards, as defined in the Keele Quality system.
- To adhere to Charles River's Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Help and support our Logistics department across sites.
About You:
- Previous experience in a Stores environment and SAP is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Practical laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
- We are ideally looking for an individual who can demonstrate initiative, that is adaptable and can work flexibly.
- As you will work closely with various departments across 2 sites, to ensure the safeguarding of stock, you will require strong written and verbal communication skills.
- This role will be based at Keele, Newcastle-Under-Lyme however, a willingness to travel within the Group will be required.
- The ability to drive a 3.5 tonne van would be advantageous for inter-site transfers.
