We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world‑class facility here at Tranent. We are a progressive and close‑knit team working hard to ensure the safety of new medicines that target life‑threatening and debilitating diseases, and are especially proud of our contribution to developing the Covid‑19 vaccines. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory‑compliant laboratory setting.
- Deliver essential care and well‑being services to the animals.
- Engage with animals positively, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables.
- Participate in animal training programmes.
- Handle animals for procedures.
- Perform physical environment cleanliness and upkeep, maintaining accurate records.
- Document animal behaviours and activities.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications.
- Positive attitude with a good work ethic and reliable attendance record.
- Physically demanding role – you will be active and on your feet for most of the working day.
