We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician for the Building/Workshop department in Tranent. This is a permanent, full-time position. The role involves electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor or Senior Engineer.
Applicants Must Have:
- Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Full, clean driver's license and own transportation
- Experience as a Maintenance Electrician

Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical repair and maintenance across Charles River sites
- Installation of electrical and computer wiring per IEE regulations
- Portable appliance testing and record maintenance
- Advising scientific staff on electrical systems
- Monitoring room conditions and calibrating sensors
- Participating in generator testing and restart procedures
- Collaborating with Plant Engineers and service engineers
- Maintaining accurate work records
- Fault diagnosis and testing
- Working on high voltage equipment (if qualified)
This role requires working outside normal hours, including being part of a rotational on-call team, with an on-call allowance. You must arrange your own travel during working and overtime hours.
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus on-call allowance. On-call participation may be discontinued, and allowances cease if participation ends.
