Job Summary
We are looking to expand our team of Animal Technicians at our world‑class facility in Tranent. We are a progressive and close‑knit team, working hard to ensure the safety of new medicines that target life‑threatening and debilitating diseases and we are especially proud of our contribution in developing the Covid‑19 vaccines. We are passionate about our animals, striving to provide the best possible care with a culture of continuous improvement. Candidates must have a passion for working with animals and share our commitment to their welfare. In this role you will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory‑compliant laboratory setting. You should have a minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications. An active, physically demanding role requires you to be on your feet most of the working day.
Responsibilities
- Husbandry duties / delivering essential care and well‑being services to the animals
- Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
- Participating in animal training programmes
- Handling animals for procedures
- Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
- Documenting animal behaviours and activities
