The Solutions Engineer provides pre‑sales support to the sales, account management, customer success, and product teams. The role requires the ability to speak with equal credibility on both technical aspects of the product and the business challenges of each customer persona. A key stakeholder is the client CTO or CIO, with whom the Solutions Engineer leads strategic technical architecture discussions and provides clear recommendations. The Solutions Engineer organizes, plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of the technical pre‑sales engagement, including demos, proofs of concept, security audits, requirements scoping, and proposal creation. This position offers exposure to all core functions of a high‑growth SaaS company that is part of Charles River Development, a State Street company, and provides opportunities for leadership advancement as the company scales.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the customer, providing industry expert best practices with tangible client examples.
  • Support the Sales Manager during the discovery phase, defining specific problems to solve with customer data.
  • Present how our products solve technical and strategic business challenges through in‑depth product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and on‑site workshops.
  • Lead engagement with CTO or CIO on technical architecture strategy, providing credible recommendations for data management.
  • Drive customer requirements gathering and proposal generation for new customers, serving as the technical bridge between functional groups and pre‑sales customers.
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) responses in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
  • Liaise between customers and the Customer Success team to communicate relevant feedback and requirements, ensuring alignment between pre‑ and post‑contract delivery.
  • Manage internal teams to deliver to clients within buying cycles, collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Development, and Customer Success functions.

What We Value

  • Experience in infrastructure, real‑estate, private credit, private equity, private market diligence, fund management, or process consulting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively from CEO to entry‑level end user and build rapport across all levels, with strong presentation skills.
  • Analytical or business background; experience in private markets preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with proof‑of‑concept development using modern technologies.
  • Self‑motivated, persistent, strong work ethic, coachable, and receptive to training and feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of Investment Management, Corporate Finance, or Accounting.
  • Bonus: Experience with Business Intelligence platforms or programming skills such as Java, JavaScript, AWS, Perl/Python, SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preference in Accounting or Finance).
  • 3+ years of experience as a solutions engineer or consultant to private market investors or Fortune 500 companies.
  • Optional: Studying for CFA or CAIA certifications.
