Charles Read Academy is now recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant. This role could be your next career opportunity. About the role
- Work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision.
- Implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
- Undertake cover supervisor duties where required by the Academy Principal.
- Assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
- Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate.
- Take small group intervention sessions.
- Support the aims and ethos of the school.
Full time, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks term time, permanent contract.

Who we are looking for
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- GCSE in English and Maths/equivalent.
- Previous experience of working with children of relevant age.
- Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
- Ability and willingness to identify own training needs and participate in training.
- Experience of working with students with SEN needs and supporting individual children in a classroom on a 1:1 basis would be desirable.
