A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Cannock are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper with strong knowledge of VAT returns, management accounts, and general bookkeeping tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the accounts team to ensure accurate financial reporting for a variety of clients.

Bookkeeper Job Overview

  • Preparation of VAT returns and tax returns
  • Recording and reconciling purchases and expenses with appropriate nominal codes
  • Recording and reconciling bank and credit card transactions
  • Processing double-entry bookkeeping for wages, including PAYE, SSP, pensions
  • Managing accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and loan interest journals
  • Liaising with the accounts team to ensure accurate financial records

Bookkeeper Job Requirements

  • Experience is the key requirement - industry or practice experience both considered
  • Good knowledge of Journals, Accruals, and Prepayments
  • Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel
  • AAT qualified (or qualified by experience)

Bookkeeper Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £33,000 per year
  • Opportunity for flexible working hours, with key hours between 10am to 4pm and early finish on a Friday
