A fast-growing MedTech insights consultancy is hiring a Research Director to lead high-impact mixed-method research across medical devices, clinician behaviour, workflow mapping and patient pathways. This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with leadership to deliver evidence-based insights that shape product, commercial and strategic decisions.
The ideal hire will be UK-based to ensure strong collaboration with senior stakeholders and seamless delivery across markets.
The Role
- You will lead end-to-end MedTech research programmes covering device usability, clinician workflow mapping, patient experience, operational decision-making and innovation strategy.
- The role is hands-on across quant and qual, with responsibility for designing guides, shaping surveys, analysing data and presenting clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
- You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across innovation, AI, marketing and strategy, and play a key role in client development and account growth.
What We’re Looking For
- MedTech experience — essential; device, therapy area or clinical workflow exposure
- Clinician comfort — confident engaging clinicians and technical stakeholders
- Mixed-methods capability — strong quant + qual, able to design and deliver both
- ~10 years’ experience in insights, healthcare research or MedTech-adjacent fields
- Hands-on approach — comfortable rolling up your sleeves, not siloed
- Cross-functional capability — able to work across innovation, AI, marketing, strategy
- Strong client leadership — relationship-building, spotting opportunities, shaping accounts
- UK-based — essential for collaboration and delivery
Culture & Environment
The environment is entrepreneurial, collaborative and social. You’ll work across multiple areas, not just research, and be part of a global team that values curiosity, rigour and creativity. Annual team meet-ups and cross-market collaboration are a core part of how the organisation stays connected.
What You’ll Lead
- Mixed-method MedTech research programmes
- Device usability and clinician workflow studies
- Quantitative survey design, sampling and analysis
- Qualitative guides, interviews and behavioural insight
- Client workshops, strategy sessions and executive presentations
- Cross-functional collaboration across innovation, AI and product teams
