Charles Levick have partnered with a global energy trading business undergoing significant growth across its European platform. We’ve been exclusively mandated to find a high-calibre Senior Trader to take ownership of a proprietary trading book across Power, Gas & Carbon. This is a role for someone who wants real autonomy, capital backing, and the ability to scale a strategy, not just manage risk within tight constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Run your own proprietary trading strategies across European Power, Gas & Carbon
- Take full ownership of a P&L-driven trading book
- Partner closely with analysts & quants to generate market insights and alpha
- Help shape trading tools, models, and desk strategy
- Identify and execute on new market opportunities across UK & Continental Europe
- Work cross-functionally with risk, analytics & operations in a high-performance environment
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience trading Power or Gas markets
- A proven, consistent P&L track record in proprietary trading
- Strong understanding of European energy market fundamentals (TTF, NBP, EUA, Power)
- Background in a trading house, bank, hedge fund or utility
- Strong analytical & numerical skillset (Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar)
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-conviction environment
