Charles Levick have partnered with a leading Energy Trading business. We have been tasked to find a highly motivated Senior Sales Trader as they continue to expand their ever-growing team. As a Senior Sales Trader, you will be responsible for covering markets such as Cotton, Grains & Oil seeds, Sugar, Coffee and Cocoa. You’ll leverage your market insights and trading expertise to execute high-frequency trades, optimize portfolios, and navigate market fluctuations to drive profitability.
This is a high-impact senior position with full revenue responsibility, sitting within a well-established structured products business. The successful individual will manage and expand key client relationships, develop tailored hedging and derivative solutions, and collaborate closely with an established trading and commercial team. The environment is entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and designed to give senior individuals significant autonomy and influence over strategic decisions.
Your role & responsibilities
- Develop and expand relationships across the agricultural commodities client base, including producers, processors, merchants, consumers, trading firms, and institutional counterparties.
- Create, structure, and deliver bespoke risk management and return optimisation strategies using a range of complex derivative solutions.
- Generate and manage revenue opportunities through OTC structured transactions and ongoing client activity.
- Work closely with trading desks and broader commercial teams to turn market views and client requirements into actionable trading opportunities.
- Deliver timely and commercially focused market insight covering supply and demand dynamics, logistics, weather developments, policy changes, macroeconomic trends, and regional market dislocations.
- Lead commercial discussions around pricing, documentation, collateral arrangements, and the ongoing management of executed transactions.
- Support the continued growth of the platform by contributing to new product initiatives, assisting in the development of junior team members, and helping shape the long‑term direction of the desk.
- Act as a key representative of the business at industry conferences, networking events, and strategic client meetings across global markets.
Must Have
- 3+ years’ experience within agricultural commodities sales, structured solutions, or origination gained at a trading firm, merchant, brokerage, or financial institution, with the ability to bring established client relationships.
- Proven history of generating revenue through the execution and delivery of structured derivative transactions, supported by measurable commercial performance.
- Strong market understanding across at least two key agricultural sectors such as Cotton, Grains & Oilseeds, Sugar, Coffee, or Cocoa, with the capability to broaden coverage across additional products.
- Solid understanding of OTC trading infrastructure, including ISDA frameworks, collateral processes, clearing arrangements, and settlement procedures across both physical and financial markets.
- Existing industry relationships spanning producers, merchants, trading companies, and industrial consumers.
- Highly commercial mindset with a strong appreciation of risk/reward dynamics, balance sheet usage, and disciplined execution.
