As a Senior Gas Trader, you will take a leading role in proprietary trading across European gas markets within a well-capitalised, performance-driven trading environment. You’ll be trusted with meaningful risk, expected to run conviction-led positions, and contribute consistently to desk PnL.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead proprietary trading activity across European gas markets, managing risk across the forward curve.
- Develop and execute high-conviction trading strategies across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
- Analyse gas market fundamentals including supply and demand, storage, LNG flows, pipeline flows, weather, and regulatory developments.
- Identify structural, cross-hub, and relative value opportunities across European gas products.
- Actively manage positions, PnL, and exposure within agreed risk limits.
- Contribute to desk strategy, market views, and mentoring of junior traders where appropriate.
- Work closely with risk, analytics, and commercial teams to enhance trading performance.
Requirements
- Extensive experience trading European gas markets within a trading house, fund, or major merchant.
- Deep understanding of gas market structure, pricing drivers, and forward curve behaviour.
- Proven, sustained track record of generating PnL through disciplined risk taking.
- Strong commercial judgement with the confidence to run risk and defend positions.
