We are looking for an Experienced Children's Social Worker within a Fostering Team in the Berkshire area on a Locum Basis with a minimum 6 month guaranteed Contract (30 hours per week).
Do not apply if you do not have a Social Work qualification with a minimum 3 years permanent experience with an English local authority.
About the team
The role involves recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting foster carers, assessing foster families, and matching children with suitable placements. It also includes working with professionals and partner agencies, maintaining accurate confidential records, participating in duty cover, and ensuring high-quality services that promote children's safety and well-being.
About you
An enthusiastic and committed Social Worker who can work effectively within a children's service. Social Workers must hold a Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and have a minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are also required.
Essential requirements
- Recognised social work qualification.
- Up to date registration with Social Work England
- Practical experience of applying assessment skills within statutory social work settings
- Knowledge of child protection, children in care and associated child in
need social work practice issues and knowledge of methods of social
work intervention - Up to date knowledge of social work applications i.e. attachment
theory, enabling change, behaviour and behaviour management.
