We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Children Looked After Team. This role requires a Social Work Qualification with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience.
As a Social Worker in the Children Looked After Team, you will work with children and young people who are in the care of the local authority. Your role will involve building meaningful, consistent relationships with children and their carers, ensuring their needs are met, and helping them achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for care planning, statutory reviews, and preparing reports for court or permanency panels when necessary. The focus is on stability, emotional well-being, and long-term planning, including adoption, fostering, or reunification with birth families when appropriate.
To be considered, you must have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree / DipSW / CQSW)
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience within children's services, ideally with looked after children
- A strong understanding of care planning, permanency, and relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act 1989)
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable, but not essential
