We are looking for passionate Support Workers with experience working with children and young people in challenging environments. This role offers the opportunity to support children with traumatic backgrounds, learning disabilities, mental health or challenging behaviours, and to work within a residential care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support and care for children and young adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviours
  • Provide emotional and therapeutic support, facilitating activities and interventions to promote well-being and independence
  • Plan and deliver care and educational programmes in line with individual care plans
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for residents
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and progress
  • Attend shift patterns, including weekends and overnight stays, as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to complete within six months)
  • Demonstrated experience working with children or young adults with learning disabilities, mental health or challenging behaviours (SEN School, youth work, community work, care leavers, youth justice or children’s homes)
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Robust understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
