Our client is seeking Geotechnical Engineers across Engineer, Senior, Principal and Associate grades to support a growing Civil & Structural Engineering team delivering projects throughout the UK. The successful candidates will contribute to a broad range of geotechnical projects across development, energy, industrial, property and manufacturing sectors, whilst acting as a client‑facing representative supporting and leading bids and tenders. Opportunities exist for individuals looking to develop their technical expertise while supporting the continued growth of an expanding geotechnical capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through to design and construction support
- Undertaking and reporting on ground investigations
- Supporting temporary works design and assessment
- Providing construction support and technical problem solving
- Delivering specialist services including:
- Stability assessments
- Slope stability assessments
- Slope stability design
- Preparing clear and concise technical reports
- Supporting and leading client meetings
- Managing site and design projects
- Ensuring compliance with technical, financial, environmental, quality and safety requirements
- Supporting bids, tenders and business development activities
- Identifying opportunities across construction, energy, property, industrial and manufacturing sectors
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Mentoring and developing junior team members
Candidate Requirements
- Candidates should demonstrate strong geotechnical engineering capability appropriate to their level of experience.
- The successful individual will ideally possess:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within an engineering consultancy environment
- Experience delivering geotechnical investigations, assessments and design
- Strong technical understanding of:
- Ground investigations
- Geotechnical assessment
- Stability assessment
- Slope stability assessment and design
- Knowledge of relevant geotechnical standards, guidance and best practice
- Strong technical report writing capability
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competency with Microsoft Office
Professional Qualifications
- Chartered ICE status would be advantageous
- Candidates working towards Chartership will be considered for Senior and Engineer grades
- A MSc in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
- Eligibility to work in the UK
