Location: London / Hybrid
We are looking for a Senior FinOps Data Engineer / Technical Lead to help design and build a new enterprise capability providing a trusted view of AI, cloud and data-platform cost and consumption. The platform will bring together billing, usage and telemetry across Azure, AWS, Snowflake and AI providers, providing granular visibility of cost, attribution, utilisation and ultimately unit economics. This is a hands-on technical role combining data architecture, engineering and FinOps. You will help shape the solution while working directly on the underlying data products and pipelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Help define the architecture for a central cloud and AI cost data platform
- Build and lead development of Python/SQL data pipelines and models
- Ingest and reconcile billing, pricing, usage and consumption data
- Integrate Azure, AWS, Snowflake and AI-provider data and APIs
- Design cost allocation, attribution, showback and forecasting models
- Capture AI request/token consumption and associated costs
- Build governed, auditable datasets with appropriate quality controls
- Provide technical leadership to a small engineering team
Required skills:
- Strong Python and SQL
- Data engineering, architecture and data modelling
- Production ETL/ELT pipelines and API integrations
- AWS and/or Azure cloud data
- Snowflake, Databricks or similar
- Cloud billing, cost or consumption data
- FinOps concepts including allocation, showback/chargeback and optimisation
- Strong stakeholder and technical leadership skills
Experience with Azure Cost Management, AWS CUR/Cost Explorer, Snowflake cost telemetry, FOCUS, Power BI or AI/LLM consumption data would be particularly valuable.
