Founded in 2016, Ark Housing provides housing and support to vulnerable adults. With houses in Buxton and Stoke, we support some 120 adults and have ambitious growth plans. With a goal of independent living for our users, we support ex-offenders, those with addictions, and/or mental health issues and similar challenges.
With our current CEO moving on, we are now seeking a passionate, experienced, and forward-thinking individual to take us into our next chapter. We are planning on expanding both geographically and in our service offerings and are governed and supported by professional and enthusiastic trustees.
The essence of the role is to provide leadership, management, motivation, and direction for Ark.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Working with the chair and trustees to develop business strategy, plans, and targets, including setting and monitoring KPI’s.
- Structured management and review of staff members (14), including finance/bookkeeping, support workers, and property maintenance.
- Ensuring the long-term sustainability of Ark through effective governance, sound financial management, and the effective delivery of services.
- Delivery and enhancement of current services, and development of new services in line with future strategy.
- Developing professional relationships with local authorities and other key bodies and potential partners.
- Leadership of all aspects of administration and governance.
You are likely to be a senior individual within a charity, not-for-profit organisation, or business supporting/connected with vulnerable users. You will have a depth of understanding of housing/accommodation issues, as well as experience in the development of services for this kind of user group.
There will be some travel between operating bases in Buxton and Stoke (and we are seeking to expand in the northwest/Peaks), and the role demands an enhanced DBS check.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter by 20th March. Online interviews will take place the week commencing 31st March, with in-person interviews in Buxton the following week.
